Development and Communications Director

The newly created position of Development and Communications Director will play a key role in helping Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute advance our mission of closing Minnesota’s educational opportunity gap with dedicated writing support for underserved youth. This position will manage MOI’s annual fundraising, build our donor base, and support the board and Executive Director in their efforts to meet revenue goals to ensure our staff and students have the resources they need to thrive. Writers’ Room Coordinator

The Writers’ Room Coordinator, in partnership with school staff and Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute (MOI), runs a drop-in writing center located within South High School in Minneapolis. This room has been a catalyst for creativity and writing in the high school, hosting free writing programming and support for the student community. This position is a 10-month (Sept. - June) AmeriCorps service position hosted in partnership with Public Allies-Twin Cities. Learn more here.
