If you’re interested in tutoring, leading a workshop, or partnering with MOI in any way, please attend a new volunteer orientation. All volunteers are required to attend orientation before working with students. Upcoming orientation dates can be found on our calendar.
Volunteer qualifications include:
Passion for working and learning alongside students
Desire to build healthy relationships and academic skills
Responsibility and reliability (students depend on you!)
Enthusiasm for affirming students’ identities and bridging differences
After-School Homework Help
Monday–Thursday, 3–6 p.m.
MOI asks After-School Homework Help volunteers to commit to one regular 90-minute session once per week.
Storytelling & Bookmaking Field Trips
Wednesdays and/or Fridays, 2-hour sessions between 9 a.m. and noon
Young Authors’ Book Project
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 9–11 a.m.
Young Authors’ Book Project for 2018-19 will take place at South High School in Minneapolis.
Writers’ Room @ South High School
Monday–Thursday, flexible timing
Creative Writing Workshops
